Landscape from Turne
This conversation is connected to Landscape from Turne.
Ľudovít Čordák was a Slovak painter working around the turn of the twentieth century, part of a generation of Central European landscape painters influenced by plein air practice and early Impressionism. Landscape from Turňa is a small, still scene — a stand of thin trees catching warm light against a broad sweep of water and distant hills. The paint is loose but attentive, with sky, land, and reflection blurring slightly into one another at the edges.
