Quality + Materials
We print on archival, matte fine art paper with a smooth finish and substantial weight. It’s designed to hold detail and color over time without glare. You can read about the full paper specs and special order papers on our Print + Frame Guide page.
All prints are produced using pigment-based giclée printing, a high-resolution process used by artists and museums for accurate, long-lasting reproductions.
We adjust color with restraint, working from high-resolution archive files that often vary in quality and age. This involves correcting color casts, refining tonal balance, and calibrating the image for print using pigment-based inks and matte paper.
The goal isn’t to “perfect” the image, but to arrive at something that feels faithful to the original work and reads well in a physical format. As with any printed piece, slight variation can occur depending on screen settings and ambient light.
Some cropping may occur depending on the aspect ratio of the artwork and the size you select. Each size is adjusted individually—some preserve more of the original image, while others require a closer crop.
We use our judgment to determine how the image is framed, prioritizing the integrity of the composition rather than applying a fixed or automated crop.
Our preview tool gives a general sense of how the piece will look at different sizes, but it crops from the center and may not reflect the final composition exactly. If you’d like to confirm a specific crop, feel free to reach out.
We offer both solid oak and metal frames, each with a slightly different look and feel. The oak frames have a modern profile (0.71 × 1.02 in), while the metal frames are slimmer and more minimal (0.28 × 0.79 in).
Each frame is fitted with real glass, assembled with care, and arrives ready to hang with hardware included.
Standard prints are not matted. Both unframed and framed Standard prints are printed full bleed, with the image extending to the edge of the paper.
The Gallery mat option includes a white gallery mat that surrounds the artwork, sized proportionally to the frame. This creates additional space around the image and can change how the composition is perceived, especially at larger sizes. For more information on mats, please see the Frame + Print Guide page
