Landschaft aus Schleswig-Holstein
This conversation is connected to Landschaft aus Schleswig-Holstein.
Gustav Kampmann was a German landscape painter and printmaker, based in Karlsruhe for most of his career. He painted Landschaft aus Schleswig-Holstein in 1882, early in his development — the northern German coast and its flat, open terrain. A broad sky opens over a stretch of water and low land, with dense trees gathered along the right edge catching soft, shifting light. It's a modest composition, mostly sky and air, with color softening steadily toward the horizon.
