Paysage aux Arbres Fruitiers
This conversation is connected to Paysage aux Arbres Fruitiers.
Paysage aux Arbres Fruitiers is one of Bonnard's rural landscapes, painted in the loose, luminous style he developed in his later years between Paris and the south of France. A green field under a gray-lavender sky, seen through the branches of overlapping fruit trees in the foreground. Dark trunks angle across the canvas, their foliage rendered in dense dabs of green, yellow, and white. In the middle distance at right, two small blue figures sit in the grass. A building with a red roof is visible on the horizon. The whole painting is green on green on green, with warm ochres and violets breaking through.
