Raigardas (III)
This conversation is connected to Raigardas (III).
The landscape is constructed through strict, horizontal bands of color. In the foreground, a dark green field and a curved brown slope lead to a solid, impenetrable line of dark green trees. Beyond this barrier, the valley opens into flat, geometric sections of pale green and a contrasting yellow field dotted with small, triangular haystacks. A heavy band of dark blue dominates the horizon line. Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, a Lithuanian symbolist and composer, frequently approached painting with a musical sensibility, organizing his landscapes into rhythmic, structured tiers of flat color to evoke psychological and atmospheric tension.
