Two figures, a woman in a striped skirt and a smaller figure beside her, possibly a child, stand in a fragmented interior or landscape. The composition is broken into overlapping planes of blue, brown, lavender, ochre, pink, and gray, all outlined in dark brown ink. A small animal (a cat or dog) sits at the lower right. The brushwork is quick and the forms are deliberately rough; faces reduced to simple marks, bodies outlined rather than modeled. The palette is muted and earthy, with the blue tones providing the strongest color. Gouache and ink on paper, roughly square.
